    Description of role

    Responsible for researching, analysing and drafting prudential and conduct of business rules based on risks identified, standards set by international bodies including by Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, FATF and similar bodies and on international leading regulatory practices.

    Core technical skills

    • Knowledge of current laws and regulations in the sector
    • Understanding of risks of specific banking products across the sector, and convey insights
    • Knowledge of micro prudential policy framework
    • Understanding concepts of risk based supervision, proportionality, moral hazard, information asymmetry etc.
    • Understanding of banking products and associated risks across the sector
    • Understanding of interlinkages between banks, the wider FS sector, and the local economy
    • Ability to build financial model to perform cost-benefit analysis of proposed regulations
    • Ability to build detailed risk assessments of the market
    • Ability to assess the impact of international financial regulations and standards
    • Ability to assess the cost-benefit analyses on proposed regulation(s) to ensure they are proportionate to the issue
    • Ability to articulate the issue(s) driving proposed regulation
    • Knowledge of global financial stability issues, macro and financial shocks, and spill-over
