Qatar Finance and Business Academy announces start of the 9th edition of “Kawader Malia 2024”
Qatar Finance and Business Academy announced the start of the 9th edition of its national program "Kawader Malia 2024" with the enrollment of new participants who were chosen according to the program's designated pathways.The program this year has accepted 80 participants who were chosen from more than 300 applications submitted from the time registrations started on October 16th 2023 Mr. Khalifa Al-Salahi Al-Yafei, CEO of Qatar Finance and Business Academy, delivered a welcome speech on this occasion, congratulating the new participants who were chosen to join the program this year, emphasizing that their selection was made based on each of them successfully passing various assessments and interviews. Each applicant was then assigned to a specific pathway in line with their current and potential career pathsAl-Yafei went on to say that the 9th edition of "Kawader Malia" is especially significant because it coincides with the 15th anniversary of the Qatar Finance and Business Academy, which was founded to be the only national body specializing in providing training and professional development programs for the banking and financial services sector in Qatar.He also explained that the Academy organized “Kawader Malia” in 2013 as a result of its responsibility to the country's financial and banking sector and meeting its demands, as well as a desire to improve the quality of its services.Furthermore, Al-Yafei emphasized the value of enrolling in a state institution to receive practical training as part of the program plan, which helps students define their professional goals, boost their self-confidence, and provide them with the opportunity to experience the real work environment and learn about potential career options.Additionally, he emphasized the significance of bolstering students' professional networks through the program, as this is a crucial means of expanding career prospects and attaining personal and professional success across diverse areas.For its part, the 9th edition sees the scope of educational units expanded for the first time since the program's inception to include six educational units, namely Introduction to Financial Services & Fintech, Soft Skills and Career Readiness, “Leadership and Management by ILM (level 3) which consists of two parts, qualifications for specialized pathways, and practical training that will extend over a period of six weeks.The program will include four specialized pathways, three of which will be allocated to employee participants, including the Chartered Financial Analyst - Foundation Level Certificate from the CFA Institute, the Internal Audit Practitioner Certificate from the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Risk Certificate in Financial Services from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. While one track will be designated for participants who are not currently employed, which will be Foundation of Financial Services, which is especially designed to assist fresh graduates entering the labor market in gaining a broader and deeper grasp of all financial services and related topics.The program's 9th edition is supported by our Main partnership with Qatar Central Bank, National Partners such as Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and the Ministry of Labor, Strategic Partnership of the Qatar Investment Authority, as well as sponsorship and support from Qatar National Bank, Masraf Al Rayan, Ahli Bank, Dukhan Bank, Commercial Bank, General Tax Authority (GTA), , Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), Qatar Development Bank (QDB), Doha Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Qatar Insurance Company (QIC), Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB).It is worth noting that “Kawader Malia" is a national program aimed at Qataris who have recently graduated from university or entered the job market. It seeks to provide participants with the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the financial services industry as well as their leadership and management skills.
