Qatar Finance and Business Academy Launches New Training Programs in Financial Crime Prevention

Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has announced the launch of a new series of specialised training programmes in the field of financial crime prevention, under the theme “Hasanat Watan: Towards Financial Security and an Informed Society.”

This initiative aims to empower professionals working in the financial sector by equipping them with advanced knowledge and specialised skills in combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and complex financial crimes. It also seeks to strengthen institutional capabilities and promote a culture of compliance and sound governance across financial institutions.

Furthermore, the programmes aim to foster institutional cooperation among regulatory, security, legal, and financial entities, thereby unifying national efforts to confront the growing challenges posed by cross-border financial crimes.

In his opening remarks at the launch ceremony, Mr. Majed Al-Khulaifi, Director of Training and Professional Development at QFBA, affirmed that Qatar has made it a national priority to enhance its compliance and financial oversight framework through its legislative, regulatory, and institutional systems. He noted that this commitment is aligned with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and adheres to international standards and requirements set by leading global regulatory bodies.

Mr. Al-Khulaifi added that the introduction of this new suite of programmes represents a strategic step towards empowering professionals and enhancing their readiness, emphasising that investment in people remains the most effective means of building a stable and transparent financial system.

He further explained that the Academy continues to play its role as a strategic partner in supporting the country’s efforts to strengthen its compliance and financial control systems. This is achieved through the design and delivery of specialised training programmes grounded in the latest international standards and best global practices. He underlined that this initiative reinforces the Academy’s mission to build human capital and develop national competencies in financial and regulatory fields.

The event featured presentations and discussions highlighting the key elements and practical aspects of the new training programmes. Participants reviewed modern approaches and best practices in institutional capacity-building and professional excellence within the financial sector. The sessions were led by financial and regulatory experts, alongside representatives from several national institutions engaged in developing Qatar’s compliance framework and combating financial crimes.
