QFBA Honours Winners of Second Edition of Finance Researcher Award
Qatar Finance and Business Academy has announced the winners of the second edition of the Finance Researcher Award during a special ceremony held to recognise outstanding students and researchers in the fields of finance and business, and to celebrate their academic contributions that advance financial knowledge and foster innovation within Qatar’s financial sector.The award forms part of the Academy’s ongoing efforts to encourage and support the next generation of financial researchers while promoting a culture of academic excellence and scholarly research. It also provides a specialised platform enabling researchers to present their studies and exchange ideas, contributing to the continued development of Qatar’s financial and economic sectors. The second edition of the award witnessed strong participation, with 24 finalists qualifying for the final stage across two main categories: Student Research and Academic Research. On this occasion, Dr Khalifa Al-Salahi Al-Yafei, CEO of Qatar Finance and Business Academy, expressed his pride in the success of the award’s second edition, emphasising that this initiative reflects the Academy’s commitment to supporting specialised financial research and encouraging students and researchers to produce studies that contribute to advancing financial knowledge and addressing the rapid transformations taking place across financial markets and institutions. He added:“The second edition of the award has demonstrated a high standard of research that reflects both analytical depth and strong relevance to the opportunities and challenges shaping today’s financial sector. We are proud to collaborate in this edition with Qatar Central Bank and to receive the support of Qatar Financial Centre and Qatar Development Bank, reflecting strong national collaboration aimed at fostering knowledge-driven innovation and strengthening the research ecosystem in Qatar. We firmly believe that investing in academic research is a fundamental pillar for building a knowledge-based economy, and we look forward to continuing to develop this initiative in ways that empower researchers and enhance their role in supporting Qatar’s economic development.” The ceremony also included the recognition of partners and sponsors for their valuable support of the award, as well as the members of the judging committee, comprising a distinguished group of academics and experts, in addition to honouring all participants who contributed to the success of this edition through their high-quality research submissions. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Academy announced the winners across the six award categories, which include five awards under the student category and one award for academic research. The winners were selected following a rigorous evaluation conducted by an independent judging committee based on comprehensive academic criteria including originality, innovation, methodology, analytical depth, and the practical impact of the research. It is worth noting that the second edition of the Finance Researcher Award attracted participation from students and researchers representing several leading academic institutions in Qatar. Participants submitted research addressing contemporary financial and economic topics, reflecting the growing interest in specialised financial research and its role in supporting innovation and advancing the development of the financial sector in the country.
