How to Pay

With more than 135 years of educational excellence, Northumbria University is one of the largest and oldest public universities in the UK with a student strength of over 35,000. Its programmes are internationally recognized. The university has been awarded the ‘Business School of the Year’ title by the Times Higher Education Awards and is ranked among the Top 10 universities for innovation and entrepreneurship in Europe.

Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) has launched Northumbria University, UK in Qatar to offer a bachelor’s degree in Finance & Investments, and a Master in Finance that have been approved by Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Currently the following programmes are being offered:

  • BSc (Hons) Finance and Investment Management
  • MSc Finance

The minimum pre-entry requirements into QFBA-Northumbria University programmes are as follow:

Mandatory for all programmes - a high school certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education AND Higher Education in Qatar

BSc (Hons) Finance and Investment Management

Year 1: At least IELTS 5.0 or equivalent, with a minimum IELTS component score of 5.0

Year 2: Completed foundation year from a recognised institution by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar (e.g. University Foundation College, Academic Bridge Programme)

Year 3: Completed 2-year diploma from a recognised institution by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar (e.g. University of Doha for Science and Technology (formally CNAQ) and Community College Qatar)

MSc Finance

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study with a minimum 2:2 classification (2.75/4.0 GPA).

If applicant is a graduate from a non-English speaking institution, English proficiency test is required. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Score: a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component.

NOTE: IELTS scores must be less than 2 years old at the time of application.

  • Application deadline: Initial closing date for applications is 1st August. Applications received after this date will be considered, on a fist-come-first served basis, until the Programme is full.

Admissions Decisions should be released starting April

The relevant tuition fee for the Bachelor programmes is 70,400 QR per year as follows:

  • First semester tuition fees of 35,200 QR.
  • Second semester tuition fees of 35,200 QR.

The relevant tuition fee for the Master’s programme is 82,500 QR as follows:

  • First semester tuition fees of 41,250 QR.
  • Second semester tuition fees of 41,250 QR.

Yes, English proficiency tests (TOEFL or IELTS) are mandatory in your application even if your first language is English.

Yes, it is approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar since August 2018.

University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) and Northumbria University Newcastle have signed a Progression Agreement allowing graduates of UDST to continue their studies and earn bachelor’s degrees from the UK in Qatar.

QFBA-NU does not offer any scholarships. However, we work with our industry partners such as: Al Fardan and Nama organization to facilitate student partial or full scholarships or loans.
