    Description of role

    Responsible for analysing, identifying and setting risk remedial and recovery activities of supervised entities based on prudential returns.

    Core technical skills

    • Knowledge of QCB reporting requirements
    • Knowledge of BCBS standards and prudential regulations
    • Understanding of international approaches to supervision and knowledge of concepts of risk based supervision
    • Knowledge and interpreting results reported by financial institutions
    • Familiarity with law, prudential requirements and compliance requirements for institutions
    • Ability to act as a point of reference for common understanding of the profile of the supervised institutions
    • Active participation in dialogue internally and with institutions for the purpose of understanding institutional directions, risks etc.
    • Knowledge of core financial soundness indicators including: capital adequacy, asset quality, earning and profitability, liquidity, and sensitivity to market risk
    • Experience in the application of international standards and analytical techniques
    • Ability to translate institution specific and sector specific issues into generic issues for research and policy advice
    • Ability to analyse and interpret early warning signs of problems at banks or within financial sector
    • Ability to priorities supervisory risks based on considerations such as law, risk based supervision principles and proportionality

    Qualification and/ or certification

    • QFSQF Level 3
    • Relevant experience
