    Description of role

    Responsible for preventing, detecting and restraining conduct which may cause damage to the reputation of the regulator. Also responsible for enforcement of powers on those areas which poses great risk to the regulators objectives.

    Core technical skills

    • Knowledge of insurance law, regulation and legal consequences relevant to enforcement action, resolution and recovery process
    • Ability to supervise examinations, investigations and enforcement actions
    • Ability to provide, interpret, analyse and advice on regulatory requirements to all licensees or to the relevant government, police and criminal authority
    • Knowledge of international practices in situations involving failure, problems
    • Ability to analyse the financial impact of enforcement, recovery or resolution action
    • Ability to understand impact of enforcement, recovery or resolution action on moral hazard and other risks in the financial sector
    • Knowledge of customer and investor protection issues
