    Description of role

    Responsible for identifying, reviewing and measuring overall risk. Also responsible for identifying any risk of loss resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems and management or from external events.

    Core technical skills

    • Knowledge of QCB laws and regulations.
    • Knowledge of financial sector, and subsectors
    • Knowledge of financial risk management and enterprise risk management concepts
    • Ability to identify risks including systemic risks and priorities them based on significance
    • Understanding of tools techniques models and process for risk management needs of QCB
    • Ability to understand and apply quantitative methods to measure and evaluate risks
    • Knowledge of asset and liability management approaches
    • Familiarity with Basel III standards
    • Ability to design and develop risk dashboards and risk MIS
    • Understanding of risk appetite statements, risk strategies and risk mitigation and stress testing methodologies
    • Understanding of linkages between economic fundamentals, banking sector and central bank activities
    • Understanding of business cycles, asset bubbles, and problems related to stressed financial sector and economy
    • Knowledge of business continuity and crisis resolution systems
    • Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills

    Qualification and/ or certification

    • QFSQF Level 3
    • FRM / PRM / CFA or equivalent qualifications would be useful
    • Relevant experience
