Course Overview:

This short "active and open learning style" course explores the intersection of leadership principles and the rapidly evolving digital landscape revolutionized by technologies such as AI, Big Data, Cyber Security and IOT. The course offers current and future managers and leaders the opportunity to develop their management and leadership knowledge, skills, and strategies to lead successful digital transformations and innovations. The course adopts a reflective practice approach to develop soft and digital leadership skills and behaviours through self-awareness and self-analysis. Participants’ learning will be enriched through real world case studies of successful digital leadership as well as from lessons learned from failures and setbacks. This learning will enable participants to apply best practices in their personal, professional, and organisational contexts.

Dr. Arshad Jamal

Dean Academic Affairs, Qatar Finance and Business Academy-Northumbria University Doha Qatar.

A highly accomplished academic leader with a Doctoral qualification, bringing over 25 years of proven expertise in driving excellence in higher education teaching and research. His extensive experience encompasses strategic planning, faculty development, and cultivating a culture of research and innovation, ultimately enhancing the quality of student learning and experience. As the founding Dean of Northumbria University London Campus, Dr. Jamal has successfully developed and achieved strategic goals, articulating an inspiring vision for the faculty in alignment with the institution's mission and values. His exceptional leadership and management track record includes the cultivation of a research culture, development of high-performing faculty and research teams, and successful strategic implementation of teaching and learning strategies, particularly in fostering a digital learning and teaching approach for Northumbria London campus. Furthermore, Dr. Arshad Jamal has established research interest groups in Digital Business, Business Analytics, AI, and Cyber Security, contributing to the establishment of a culture of research excellence at the campus.
