    Description of role

    Responsible for investment allocation across different asset classes for various portfolios based on proposed strategies and managing the risks surrounding it.

    Core skills

    • Understand the key approaches to investment allocation for bond, equity and balanced portfolios including asset class, geographical area, currency etc.
    • Understand the main aims and investment characteristics of cash, bond and equity portfolio management strategies
    • Understand how portfolio risk and return are evaluated including holding period return, total returns and its components standard deviation, volatility etc.
    • Knowledge of portfolio construction based upon proprietary or customer needs
    • Knowledge of the core principles for risk mitigation including correlation, diversification, active and passive strategies, hedging and immunisation

    Qualification and/ or certification

    • QFSQF Level 3
    • CFA or equivalent qualification would be useful
    • Relevant experience
