    Description of role

    Responsible for treaty reinsurance claims handling including claims assessment and investigation, and management of customers and intermediaries.

    Core skills

    • Knowledge of types of treaty reinsurance and claims process 
    • Ability to communicate with customers and intermediaries on regular and non-complex matters.
    • Knowledge of the characteristics and processes of proportional reinsurance treaties (surplus, quota share)
    • Knowledge of the characteristics and processes of non-proportional reinsurance treaties (aggregate excess of loss, stop loss, excess of loss).
    • Understanding the aim of reinsurance programmes, legality, and market practice
    • Ability to identify key investigation techniques and documentation requirements when assessing a claim.
    • Ability to perform analysis of claims facts/treaty terms and conditions to determine coverage position.
    • Ability to identify external factors that affect claims frequency and severity.

    • QFSQF Level 3
    • Relevant experience
